By Non-American Actors (and Rob Pattinson’s is one of the best)

by on lug.06, 2012, under Interviste

Moviefone wrote: Earlier this week, “The Amazing Spider-Man” swung into theaters (and swung out with a boatload of cash), winning over critics and fans. But no matter what you thought of the newest adventures of your favorite web-slinger, one thing’s for sure: Andrew Garfield, who plays Peter Parker, knocks his New York accent right out of the park.

For those who don’t know, Garfield is British (he was born in California to a British mother and American father, and raised in England), but that hasn’t stopped the 28-year-old actor, who first sparked stateside attention in David Fincher’s “The Social Network,” from pulling off a flawless American accent.

Obviously, Garfield is far from the only non-American to successfully do this. From Russell Crowe to Idris Elba, there are plenty of actors out there who can speak like a Yankee — sometimes well enough to confuse audiences into thinking they’re actually from the United States. Let’s take a look at a few of these actors, below. About Robert Pattinson: No, “vampire” is not an accent (ask Colin Farrell), but most of us know Robert Pattinson from his role as Edward, the shimmery lily-white vampire in the four “Twilight” movies (the fourth one comes out this Thanksgiving). Edward speaks in an American accent that suggests some kind of European aristocratic background. He’s also faked an American accent in “Remember Me” and “Water for Elephants.” In August he’ll be going all Yank-speak one again, this time for David Cronenberg’s “Cosmopolis.”Here is the Robert Pattinson’s sample from Remember me.
