Christina Ricci  parla  di Robert Pattinson con cui ha lavorato in  ’Bel Ami‘ al magazine AsiaOne:
Impegnata con il telefilm Pan Am la Ricci ha anche partecipato alle riprese di Bel Amì che è basato sul romanzo del 1885 del francese Guy De Maupassant. Bel Amì ha nel suo cast anche Uma Thurman, Robert Pattinson e Kristin Scott Thomas.
Su Pattinson , il rubacuori lanciato da Twilight, che interpreta il corrotto ptotagonista del film George Duroy Christina Ricci dice al Magazine che è stato “un ragazzo fantastico con cui lavorare“
Kristin Scott Thomas  parla del suo ruolo in “Bel Amì” al quotidiano The Indipendent :
In Bel Amì il suo personaggio di Virginie Walters inizia come una sorta di archetipo dell’immagine comune della stessa Scott Thomas al cinema: fredda e  spietata, ma poi impazzisce per Robert Pattinson, comportandosi come una fans adolescente di Twilight

Chiedo se voleva giocare proprio con questo stereotipo. ”Non proprio, non ero consapevole di farlo,” è la risposta iniziale. Ma presto si avvicina al mio modo di pensare. ”So che la gente pensa che io intepreti sempre questi personaggi che ipercontrollati e  che sono così freddi da poter tagliare la testa a qualcuno con uno sguardo . Forse hai ragione in un certo senso;. Che una parte così era particolarmente allettante per me perché lei è una donna che perde tutta la sua dignità. ma ho  voluto fare il film, perché  anche NickOrmerod e Declan Donnellan lo dirigevano. Avevo incontrato Declan in molte occasioni e avremmo cercato di fare teatro insieme, ma non ci siamo mai riusciti.. e questa è stata un’opportunità “Rivela allora che lei aveva accettato di lavorare ad un adattamento di Maupassant anni prima. All’epoca Vincent Cassel  sarebbe stato Duroy e lei stava per interpretare Madeleine Forestier (…).

Christina Ricci talks about working with Rob in ‘Bel Ami‘ to AsiaOne:

Besides being busy with Pan Am, Ricci has finished filming the movie Bel Ami, which is based on French author Guy de Maupassant’s 1885 novel of the same name. Bel Amì also stars Uma Thurman, Robert Pattinson and Kristin Scott Thomas.

About Pattinson, Ricci would say only that the Twilight heart-throb, who plays the corrupt protagonist Georges Duroy, was an “amazing” guy to work with.

The actress has also got her fair share of English-language roles coming up. As Virginie Walters in Bel Ami she plays against type. Her character starts off as a Scott Thomas archetype, cold and ruthless, but then goes gaga over Robert Pattinson, behaving like a teenage fan of Twilight.

I ask if she wanted to play against type. “Not really; I wasn’t aware of doing that,” comes the initial reply. Yet she soon talks herself around to my way of thinking. “I know people think that I always play these characters who are in control and can chop someone’s head off with a look. Maybe you are right in a way; that part was particularly enticing to me because she’s a woman who loses all her dignity. But I also wanted to do the film because Nick Ormerod and Declan Donnellan were directing. I’d met Declan on many occasions and we’d tried to make theatre together, but it had never really worked out; so this was an opportunity.”

She then reveals that she had agreed to star in an adaptation of Guy de Maupassant’s Bel Ami years ago, when Vincent Cassel was cast in the lead role and she was to play the controlling female Madeleine Forestier. Coming full circle she ends by adding, “Piffle! I don’t think the way that people see me in French film is so different to how they see me in English films. To do Pawel’s film is great because I’m allowed to go to both places, which is exciting.”

    Il personaggio di Kristin mi incuriosisce parecchio. Certo Cassel avrebbe avuto sicuramente un suo fascino, ma vuoi mettere Rob….
    Tutta un’altra storia.

    sicuramente vincent cassel dalla sua ha un forte fascino, è francese (come il protagonista) ed è un attore molto bravo. ma sono d’accordo con te cara becauseofrob robert è tutta un’altra cosa… certo che la thomas interpreta un personaggio maturo che perde del tutto la sua dignità di donna e di madre arrivando ad essere gelosa della figlia fino ad odiarla! più che altro sono curiosa di vedere la sua interpretazione.
