La rivista GIRLFRIEND dedica copertina + due pagine di intervista a Robert Pattinson in occasione dell’uscita di “Come l’acqua per gli Elefanti” in DVD e Blu-ray HD prevista per il 13 Settembre

GF: Come descriveresti Jacob? Il personaggio che interpreti?

RP: E’ un idealista. Ma il mondo nel quale è entrato, all’epoca della Grande Depressione, sembra far di tutto per rompere proprio quell’idealismo che gli appartiene, in particolare, il tirannico August. Jacob dovrà affrontare nuove sfide e dure prove per mantenere intatto il suo idealismo e sarà proprio questo a far innamorare Marlena di lui.

GF:Hai letto il libro Water for Elephants quando hai accettato il ruolo?

RP: Non avevo letto il libro prima di ottenere la parte. Ma come ho iniziato a leggerlo, non sono riuscito più a fermarmi. L’ho letto sull’aereo durante il viaggio dall’America all’Inghilterra e anche la ragazza seduta a fianco a me lo stava leggendo. Poi quando sono ripartito per le nuove riprese dell’ultimo film di Twilight, anche la persona vicino a me lo stava leggendo, e ne volo di ritorno verso casa di nuovo un’altra persona lo stava leggendo! E’ stavo davvero strano!

GF:Qual è stata la scena più complessa del film?

RP: Le prime scene del film sono state molto impegnative perchè la parte più commovente della vita del ragazzo è condensata nei primi due minuti della storia!

GF:Cosa ti fa piangere?

RP: Ho pianto l’ultimo giorno delle riprese del film, e quando ho visto “La marcia dei pinguini” qualche giorno fa: mi sono commosso!

GF:Hai una passione inconfessabile?

RP: Le pretzel M&M’S. Sono capace di mangiarne una quantità industriale.

GF: Ti manca casa, l’Inghilterra dove sei cresciuto, ora che ti trovi a Los Angeles?

RP: Sì decisamente. Mi mancano i quotidiani inglesi, soprattutto le pagine sportive! Mi manca il calcio e l’Arsenal (la mia squadra del cuore=. Mi manca la luce dell’Inghilterra. So che può sembrare ridicolo, ma la luce a Londra è differente da quella di qualunque altra parte del mondo. Sento anche la mancanza dei profumi della mia città e della birra. Ma ho lavorato a Londra l’anno scorso e in realtà avrei potuto essere in qualsiasi altra parte del mondo. Quando lavori sei giorni a settimana potresti anche essere in Corea e non accorgerti della differenza!

GF: How would you describe Jacob,your character ?

RP: (He is) an idealist. But the world in which he entered at the time of the Great Depression, it seems to do everything to break his own idealism , in particular, by the tyrannical August. Jacob will face new challenges and hardships in order to maintain his idealism and that’s why Marlena falls in love with him.

GF: Did you read the book Water for Elephants before you accepted the role?

RP: I had not read the book before getting the part. But as I started reading, I could not stop. I read on the plane during the trip from America to England and even the girl sitting next to me was reading it too. Same happened when I left for a reshoot for the last Twilight movie, even the person next to me was reading it, and flying back home again, another person was reading it! And it was really weird!

GF: What was the most complex scene in the film?

RP: The first scenes of the film have been very challenging because the most touching part of the boy’s life is condensed in the first two minutes of story!

GF: What makes you cry?

RP: I cried on the last day of filming, and when I saw “March of the Penguins” a few days ago, I was moved!

GF: Do you have a unmentionable passion?

RP: The M & M’S pretzels. I am able to eat an industrial quantity of it.

GF: Do you miss home, where you grew up in England, now that you are in Los Angeles?

RP: Yes, definitely. I miss the English newspapers, especially the sports pages! I miss football and Arsenal (my favorite team). I miss the light of England. I know it sounds ridiculous, but the light in London is different from any other part of the world. I also feel the lack the scents of my city and beer. But I worked in London last year and I could really be anywhere else in the world. When you work six days a week you may be in Korea and not be aware of the difference!
