Robert racconta la costruzione del mondo di “Come l’acqua per gli elefanti” -Water for Elephants (audio from WFE press conference

Robert Pattinson racconta, in questo frammento audio originale dalla conferenza stampa per Water for Elephants-Come l’acqua per gli elefanti, come è stato costruito il mondo del suo nuovo film e di come si sia sentito coinvolto in questo magico mondo ricostruito.

“I think it definitely has a lot of romantic elements to it,” said Pattinson, when asked what his fans should love about Water For Elephants. “I think it’s a pretty beautiful movie, I think it’s different to a lot of other stuff that’s come out. I haven’t seen anything like it in a few years. When I was making it I felt like I was being transported somewhere else and hopefully that will be captured in the movie.”

“Credo che abbia molti elementi romantici”, ha detto Pattinson, quando gli è stato chiesto cosa i suoi fans dovrebbero poter apprezzare di Come l’acqua per gli elefanti “Credo sia un film molto bello, e credo sia differente da tante cose che escono in questi tempi. Non vedo una cosa del genere da un pò di anni. Quando lo stavo girando mi sono sentito come se fossi stato trasportato in un posto diverso e spero che anche le altre persone vengano catturate dal film”

There was an embankment with a train track on the top. All the trailers were on one side, and then the circus world was on the other. Once you walked over the tracks, there would be a camera, but that was the only thing from the 21st Century. You could stand on the tracks and look over at everything, and you were in the ‘30s. We were out in the middle of the desert in Fillmore, and there was nothing else around. There was an orchard. We were in the ‘30s. Jack Fisk, the production designer, used authentic pegs and the ropes. Every single thing which built the world was all totally real. And, authentic period underpants do actually help, as well. I actually wore them every single day. Jacqueline West, the costume designer, was unbelievable. Almost everything was real. Every pair of jeans were all from the ‘20s and ‘30s. It was crazy.

C’era un terrapieno con la rotaia del treno, tutte le roulotte erano da un lato e il mondo del circo era dall’altro lato. Una volta attraversati i binari c’era una telecamera, ma era realmente l’unica cosa del 21 imo secolo. Potevi stare sui binari e guardarsi intorno e ovunque eri negli anni 30. Eravamo in mezzo al deserto a Fillmore, e non c’era nient’altro intorno. C’era un frutteto. Eravamo negli anni 30. Jack Fisk, lo scenografo, ha usato cavi e pali autentici. Ogni singola cosa che ricostruiva quel mondo era reale. E… anche le mutande, autentiche, dell’epoca aiutano in realtà. Le ho indossate praticamente tutti i giorni. Jacqueline West, la costumista è stata incredibile. Quasi tutto era reale, ogni paio di jeans era degli anni 20 o 30. E’ stato folle.
